These common symptoms associated with Obstructive Sleep Apnea can have a negative impact on your day-to-day life as well as your long-term health. Besides robbing you of a good night's sleep, OSA can lead to weight gain, behavioral changes, and put you at risk for other major health problems.

"Chronic pain and lack of proper sleep robs people of the ability to enjoy life, negatively impacts relationships, work, and contributes to poor health. There is nothing more rewarding to me as a medical professional than to be able to help patients and restore their quality of life."
-Dr. Tanya Kushner

Improved sleep.
People with sleep apnea can stop breathing up to 90 times an hour, leaving them feeling tired and groggy in the morning. With treatment, you can sleep through the night and wake up feeling more refreshed.

Fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression.
The risk of mental illnesses like depression and anxiety increases in correlation with the increase in sleep disturbances. Sleep apnea treatment may help improve anxiety and depression or reduce the risk of developing it.

Reduced risk of developing cancer.
Individuals with untreated obstructive sleep apnea have a higher risk of various types of cancer. With sleep apnea treatment, however, that risk can be lowered.

Reduced mortality rate.
Sleep apnea has been shown to increase a person’s mortality rate by up to three times the average, for any cause of death, including heart attacks and stroke. Treatment lowers this risk and helps individuals live longer with a better quality of life.

Improved blood pressure.
Many individuals with sleep apnea also have untreated hypertension, which can go on to cause serious health problems if not addressed. Treating sleep apnea can, by proxy, treat hypertension by reducing blood pressure during sleep.

Wow! Fantastic service. I have been losing sleep for over eleven years not knowing I had sleep apnea. The friendly ladies at the clinic were able to quickly diagnose and treat the issue.

“My patients deserve the best. I knew early on that in order to become a true expert in the field of TMD and Sleep Apnea I need to seek out the best education available. To this day, dental schools do not cover any of this in their curriculum. My quest for knowledge has resulted in me becoming board certified with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, the highest recognition in the field, that requires demonstrating practical knowledge and working together with sleep labs and MDs.”

Many people who suffer from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) go years without being diagnosed, which puts them at risk for heart attack, stroke, or even death. They may be unaware that they can be treated by an OSA specialist like Dr. Kushner, who offers non-surgical solutions for treating sleep apnea. She has helped countless patients gain relief from their symptoms through the use of an oral appliance. Patients needing either of these devices will use it at night to keep their airway open. Since both are custom-made, no matter which treatment Dr. Kushner recommends, the patient is sure to feel comfortable. Say good-bye to interrupted sleep and groggy days and gain back your health and well-being.
